annie gave the bartender a 5 dollar tip.

things i don't like:
1. john basedow
2. playing billiards in public
3. refering to pool as billiards
4. my next door neighbors border collie

last night annie, pat and i went to madam's organ to have a beer which turned into pat signing us up to play pool. despite having a pool table growing up and friends who had pool tables and a general overexposure to all things pool-ey, you would think i would be excellent. i am not. at all. so, warning my partner and everyone at the table, i began my quick descent into embarassmenthood. point of the story: don't make me play pool, you will regret it.

it looks like we are discussing our strategy, we were actually just pointing out that our opponent had on girls jeans:

friday was spent partying at the cloisters where this happened to my beer:

last night i saw the impossibly wonderful michelle.

we had dinner at thai tanic.
this was my plate:

isn't that the craziest thing you've ever seen on a plate? it was almost too crazy to eat. but i did and i was delicious.

it is a common misunderstanding that their is no Catholic University in America, let alone in washington, dc. i assure you, there is. you know that little stop on the red line that is called Brookland/CUA? yeah... that CUA stands for Catholic University of America. whenever someone asks me where i go to school i always hestitate because without a doubt i will get one of these two answers:
1. Oh... are you like really Catholic?
or
2. Oh... where is that?

to which i usually reply:
uh, no
and
uh, by that big blue church in Northeast.

anyway, recap:
last weekend i was in new york with my brother. we stopped by times square and decided to watch this ridiculous guy singing and dancing. you could tell that he was probably musical theatre star of his high school, probably went to nyu, probably was in the chorus in some random broadway show in 1983 and now sits in the center of times square, whoring himself out to the tourists by singing lame show tunes and dancing periodically. it was sad, very very sad.

these are a few of my favorite things

oh god it's wednesday, i have a paper due in 6 hours and i am sitting in my pajamas watching tv. i love my life. i think i might go get a burrito.
after work yesterday i met up with some fab ladies for a happy hour which, as most do, turned into a happy 3 hour(s) which turned into... let's go sit on my roof. it also happens to be pat's birthday so i made (actually mrs. field's made) this:

so i know i said i would update this but my internet has been down. and it's not like anyone reads it anyway so... my favorite pictures from the last week. first off, my dear friend james is back in town. it has been the most beautiful few days i can ever remember, the cherry blossoms are out, i spent a beautiful night on the roof of the reef and now i am sitting on my front porch after catching up with an old friend (and seeing the DCMP take a deposition). it's a wonderful time to be alive. i also saw lance armstrong at the arctic monkey's show.
this is after brian chugged a pitcher of sierra nevada:

at i-42 they have a strict beer bong policy: if you don't hit a cup, you sit under the table. my beer pong partner patty didn't hit a cup and so:

pete was sitting quietly when these two renegade pong balls fell into his lap. NOTE: they have not in any way been tampered with. this was how they fell:

chris is my prettiest friend. and he LOOOOOVES q-tips. seriously. this picture was taken halfway through a twenty minute conversation about ear hygiene:

this is one of my favorite pictures:

and this is the arm bone from the board game operation that i saw on my way to starbucks when i was at work:

in honor of this weather i leave you with this:
so for now we are young
let us lay in the sun
& count every beautiful thing we can see.
